

Wilton Reinaldo Grubb, age 78, of Jacksonville passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015. Born in High Point, North Carolina in 1936, he was a son of the late Bill and Ethel Grubb. Reinaldo graduated from High Point Central High School in 1956. His career took him many places, working with Kennedy Space Center during the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs, notably he was responsible for packing the United States flag that ultimately ended up on the moon; Trans World Airlines in New York City; and finally with CSX as a Locomotive Engineer in Tampa and Jacksonville, retiring in 1998. Reinaldo was an Elder in the Peace Presbyterian Church and enjoyed serving as a greeter on many Sunday mornings. One of his favorite activities was meeting and talking with old and new friends. His daily routine began with walking the “puppies” Rose & Jack, with his good friend,John Crews. He often met with Clayton Turner for breakfast….oh how he loved and talked about those meetings.
Reinaldo is survived by his wife, Linda; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Marie Grubb of Tampa, Florida and Trent and Sandra Grubb of Summerville, South Caroline; granddaughter, Brooke Grubb of Tampa, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Warren Grubb, Marshall Grubb and Doug Grubb.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at ten o’clock in the morning at Hardage Giddens, The Oaklawn Chapel with Rev. Don Mossa, officiating.
