Wylton Lavada Franklin

Wylton Lavada (Dolly) Franklin, a resident of Cypress Village, Jacksonville, FL passed away on May 29, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born in Paisley, Lake County, FL, the daughter of William A and Ida Fillingane Moxley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Duane, five sisters and two brothers. She is survived be a brother, Ralph (“DJ”) of Anaheim, CA, a stepson, Travis (Carolyn) of LaGrange, TX and several nieces and nephews.

Prior to returning to Jacksonville in 1993, Dolly and Duane owned and operated Travelodge hotels in Rochester, NY, Jacksonville, FL and Dallas, TX.

Dolly never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone, especially if it concerned her beloved pet dogs. She enjoyed working at the reception desk of her previous residence, Broadview Terrace Condominium, as it offered an opportunity to interact with people.

Graveside services will be 2PM Friday June 3, 2016 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Cypress Village for their care.
