In the 1970s, Y married Thái Văn Danh, and together they built a life rooted in love, family, and faith. She completed her education through Grade 12 in Vietnam and worked as a skilled clothes tailor, a profession that reflected her care, patience, and creativity.
Y lived a full and joyful life surrounded by family and friends. She found great happiness in simple pleasures—eating pizza, studying the Bible, doing word searches and puzzles, attending yard sales, sewing clothes, and collecting jewelry. She loved watching shows, going on walks or bike rides, and spending time with her beloved dog, Toby. Y was known for sharing family stories and cherished memories, and she enjoyed watching Vietnamese folk opera (cải lương), which reminded her of her roots.
She was a devoted member of the Vietnamese First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
Y is survived by her daughter, Anh Tuyet Thi Tran; her son-in-law, Luc Thanh Tran; her son, Ngon Phuong Tran; and her beloved grandchildren Tina Tran, Luna Tran, and Amy Tran.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thái Văn Danh, and another loved one whose memory she carried dearly.
Y Thi Tran will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and her unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and storytelling will live on in all who knew her.
