Michael was truly a loving family man. He always talked about his wife and daughters, and he always rushed home to see and be with them. He was also a huge University of Texas fan, and many times life revolved around making sure he could be present at game time to cheer on his Longhorns. At work with the United States Marine Corps, he was very enthusiastic and eager to accomplish tasks ahead of deadlines, and always went above and beyond to meet and exceed expectations. Michael was a Communications Chief for an entire tank company and was a Battalion Communications Platoon Sergeant, served two tours in Iraq, and is a recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
Michael is survived by his wife Amanda and their two daughters, Megan Calvin (12) and Maysa Calvin (8) of the home, his parents Willie and Elvira Calvin of Thorndale, TX, and his brother Christopher “Critter” Calvin of Austin, TX.
