He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Jean Sterling.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marion Sterling; one son, Robert Dennis Sterling; four daughters, Sharon Giordano, Diane Lewis, Linda Pierce and Sherri Clarke; nine grandchildren, Robert Dennis Sterling Jr., Evan Matthew Sterling, Charlene Lewis, David Lewis, Jennifer Giordano, Alyssa Giordano, Jessica Cox, Shannon Clarke and Lauren Hopper; and two great grandchildren, Skylar Lewis and Cadence Ledet.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Bible Church Ministries, 266 Bannermans Mill Rd, Richlands.
