Russel Darl Morgan

Services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017, 2 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church on Nine Mile Road, Richlands, NC with Rev Chris Jarman officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park, Jacksonville. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday at Bethany Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home

Russel was born December 1, 1931 in Eubank, KY to Ernest and Hazel Rice Morgan. He served his country as a U.S. Marine in the Korean War. He married his loving wife Della Louise Swinson on July 9, 1955 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He and his family moved from Ohio to Florida where he worked many years at Kennedy Space Center for McDonnell Douglas. Russel and his wife Louise then moved to Maple Hill, NC where he owned and operated Onslow Marble Works.

Russel Enjoyed fishing, sporting his skills at pocket billiards, and sharing a smile while playing his fiddle with friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family or friends. He especially loved spending time with his family and will be missed very much.

Russel was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Hazel Rice Morgan, his Sister Joyce Morgan, Brother Delbert Morgan, Brother Glen Morgan, and his Sister Arlene Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Louise Swinson Morgan of Maple Hill, NC, his two children, Debbie Morgan Dunaway of Wichita Falls, Tx, Russel Keith Morgan of Wilmington, NC, Grandchildren David Dunaway of Wichita Falls, TX, Penny and her husband Chris Klimas of Claremore, OK, Timothy Dunaway of Fort Smith, AR, Brother Edwin Morgan of Cincinnati, OH, Brother Gary Morgan of Eubank, Ky, Sister, Yvonne Adams of Eubank, Ky, He also leaves behind two great grandchildren, ,Charlee Klimas and Callie Klimas of Claremore, OK and many nieces and nephews.
