

Timothy “Mark” Wrightington, of Jacksonville, made his journey to his eternal home on the evening of January 4, 2018, at the age of 23. He was receiving treatment in Chapel Hill at the UNC medical center for complications from a traumatic brain injury.
Mark was born on December 8th, 1994 on Camp Lejeune. He is survived by his parents, William Joseph Wrightington and Karen Lee Brysiak. He is survived by his two loving sisters: Meghan Elizabeth Fogarty and Emily Wrightington and five brothers: William Joseph Wrightington Jr, Joshua Steven Wrightington, Travis Michael Wrightington, Wesley Marshall Mussleman, and Patrick Thomas Wrightington and Paternal Grandparents, Ray and Karen Wrightington of Hubert; Maternal Grandparents, Edward W. Brysiak Sr. of Garnett Valley, PA and Cynthia Brysiak of Elkton, MD.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Steven J. Brysiak.
Mark attended The Milton Hershey School, in Hershey, PA and was a graduate of the class of 2012. He was voted the person to walk into a room and put a smile on your face. After enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, Corporal Wrightington "Mark" served five years with his fellow "Ironhorse" warriors of HMH 461, New River Air Station, NC. Throughout his career, Mark obtained a Marines Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
Mark was never afraid to be himself. He had an amazing personality and a priceless sense of humor. Mark loved hanging out with his friends, family and was devoted to taking caring of his dog, Athena. He enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, watching movies, bonfires, and hiking. He had a deep love and loyalty for his New Orleans Saints.
A memorial service viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, January 18th at Johnson Funeral Home at 2685 Henderson Drive, Jacksonville, NC 28546. A funeral service will then be held on Friday, January 19th at Johnson Funeral Home at 12:30 PM. The burial will be at 2:00 PM at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 110 Montford Landing Road, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
