

Bobby Gene Meadows Jr., was born May 10, 1953 in Madison, West Virginia. He passed on April 7, 2023, surrounded by family in Jasper, Alabama. “Big Bobby” was a career coal miner, running mines in West Virginia, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Alabama. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, a member of the Freemasons, an Eagle Scout, and enjoyed sharing his love for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. Bobby was a hard worker and was a great motivator and leader, instilling those same ideas into his coworkers and children. He had a bigger than life persona and was a jack-of-all-trades, making his loss great to his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby G. Meadows Sr., mother-in-law, Pam Kretzer, and his wife of 47 years, Elaine Kay Meadows. He is survived by his mother, Alice Sutphin Meadows and sister, Sherry Meadows Gray (Rick) both of Butler, Kentucky, two daughters, Amy Meadows Woods (Jeff) of Atoka, Tennessee and Amanda Meadows Rauwolf (Paul) of Bentonville, Arkansas, one son, Bobby G. Meadows III (Melissa) of Memphis, Tennessee, seven grandchildren: Jay and Will Treadway, Emma, Hannah, and Reese Meadows, Ella and Miles Rauwolf, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and extended family that loved him dearly. In lieu of flowers. The family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Red Mountain Grace Organization of Birmingham or the Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab Center.
