Brenda Webster Rush, the youngest child of Grady Hill Webster and Pauline Virginia Haney Webster, was born on February 8, 1950, in Fayette County, Alabama. She passed away peacefully at her home in Alabaster, Alabama, on April 16, 2026, following a prolonged illness.
Brenda grew up in the Hubbertville community, where her family has deep roots. Surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, she was shaped by a close-knit community of faith and family. She was a lifelong member of the Berea Church of Christ, a congregation established by her family in the 1830s, where her grandfather, Houston Haney, served as a preacher. At the age of 13, she was baptized by his hand — a moment that reflected the depth of faith woven through her family for generations. She graduated from Hubbertville High School in 1968.
Brenda's greatest devotion was to her family. As a mother, she was selfless to her core, consistently setting aside her own needs to put her children first, caring for them with patience and quiet dedication. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, she was the heart of every gathering, the steady presence around whom her family naturally drew together. She found her deepest joy in her grandchildren, treasuring time spent with each of them. She asked for no recognition and sought no greater purpose than to love and care for those entrusted to her.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Larry Rush; her son William Rush, his wife Sarah, and their daughter Rachel; her daughter Holly Rush and her children Jacob, Joshua, Emily, Cassie, Sylvie, Zach, and Scout; and her son Matthew Rush, his wife Rachel, and their children August, Henry, and Austin. She is also survived by her sister, Janie Webster Holmes, and her brother, Phillip Webster. She was preceded in death by her siblings Ray, Martha, and Hilda.
