Carl Hampton Atkins, 88, of Birmingham, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015, at the South Haven Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at graveside today, May 14, 2015, at 11 a.m., in the Pocahontas Cemetery. James Johnson will officiate. Atkins was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Sims Atkins; father, Dick Atkins; mother, Flora Atkins; brother, Curtis Atkins; and sister, Betty Atkins Chervanage. He is survived by his niece, Denise Atkins Smith; and nephew, Steve Atkins.
