She was born in Townley on June 20, 1917 to the late Walter and Leona Boshell and was raised in the Jasper area until she married Jack Sprouse of Parrish on June 6, 1941. She was one of 10 siblings and is survived by her brother, Cephus Boshell; her children, Jacqueline (Devon) Zimpelman and Glen (Edi) Sprouse; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and her eldest grandchild, Daniel Zimpelman.
Grace and Jack lived many places in the U.S. and abroad during his service in the U.S. Army and Department of Defense and eventually retired and returned to Jasper in 1995. Grace was a member of the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ and the Macedonia Church of Christ and was active in the church well into her 90's. She attributed her long life and independence to hard work and clean living and lived on her own in her home until the age of 101.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 6 till 8 p.m. at the Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019, at 11 a.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at the Mackey Boshell Cemetery in Holly Branch. Levi Sides will officiate.
