He was a faithful member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He was a deacon, teacher to his beloved Fishermen I class, greeter extraordinaire with pockets always full of candy for the little ones and much more. He loved the Lord with all his heart and his life was an example to all. In addition to being a fisher of men, he had a great passion for crappie fishing. It brought him such joy and fed a lot of people. It was the thing he missed the most during the latter part of his illness. He had a great love and affection for all his family and friends. He will be missed by many. He is now fully healed and in the arms of our Savior. Truly a life well lived.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Chad Nichols; granddaughter-in-law, Kaitlyn Stanley; parents, George and Dorothy Sanders; brothers, Charlie Sanders, George Sanders and Gary Sanders.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joan Click Sanders; daughters, Karen Nichols (Randy), Lee Ann Robinson (Glen), Christine Wilson (Randy); son, Tracy Sanders (Catherine); 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Mangram, Geneva Moore, Sarah Todd, Hazel Coggins and Doris Sloan and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
