Jimmy Allen “Jim” Wood, 74, of Jasper, died Sunday, June 5, 2016, at his residence. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kilgore -Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens. Leland Lowery will officiate. Wood was a retired store owner of W&W Discount Furniture of 35 years, a U.S. Army veteran and a baseball coach. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Allen Wood and Ruby McDermott Wood. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Ann Wood; sons, Randy Wood (Wendy) and Britt Wood (Robin); grandchildren, Zac Wood (Krissy), Lacey Wood, Allie Wood and Lexie Wood; sisters, Sandra Papps (Bobby) and Brenda McGruder (Roland); special friends, Jimmy Turnbow and Nancy; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
