

The family will be receiving friends at Life Springs Assembly of God, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1 until 2 p.m., with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. A celebration of life will be held at Life Springs Assembly of God at 2 p.m.,with burial at Bennett Cemetery. Ronnie Thompson will officiate.
Martha Alice Hawkins was born on July 4, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC, to Alton J Hawkins and Fannie Linder Hawkins. As a child, Martha and her family moved for her father’s job, eventually placing them in southern Florida, where she met and married Noble Grant Twilley. By 1972, they had moved to Curry, AL and placed roots. Martha spent years raising her family, working when needed and volunteered at Walker Baptist Hospital, where she was known as a “Pink Lady”. She served them for over 20 years, always keeping a smile, never meeting a stranger. Martha was a devoted Christian, reading and praising the Lord all the time. She spent many years attending Cornerstone Assembly of God, where she also cleaned the church. She was never happier than she was in church.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Grant Twilley; daughter, Carol Thompson; parents, Alton J and Fannie Linder Hawkins; brothers, John Hawkins and David Hawkins; great granddaughters, Melody and Rebecca Gunter.
She is survived by her son, Noble Wayne Twilley; son-in-law, Steve Thompson; grandchildren, Deseree’ NiCole Twilley, Ashley Raine Twilley, Anya Keyara Twilley, Steven Wayne Thompson Jr, Crystal Bonner (Michael), Carmella Gunter (Malachi); six great grandchildren; sister, Becky Hawkins; brother, Alton Hawkins Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
