Mary Lois Blackwell, 87, Parrish, AL, passed peacefully away surrounded by family at Shadescrest Healthcare Center on Sunday, July 22, 2018.
She was born in Sulligent Mississippi and raised in Boldo Alabama. She lived in Alaska while her husband was in the Military, and lived in California for 40 years before retiring to Parrish, AL. Mrs. Blackwell was very active in her church. She enjoyed reading, making candy and cookies for everyone, and spending time with her great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W. R. Harris and Georgia Harris; and siblings, I.W. Harris, Bobby Harris and Jewel Bruce.
She is survived by her husband, J.W. Blackwell; son, Kenneth Blackwell; daughter, Pamela Giesler; grandchildren, Cynthia Myers and Jake Giesler; great-grandson, Eli Myers; and siblings, Willie Ray Harris and Gene Harris.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 27, 2018, from 12 to 2 p.m., with service at 2 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Zion Church of Christ Cemetery. Joey Sparks will officiate.
