

Roger Mac Sandlin, 73, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, at home. Family will receive friends Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be at Boldo Memory Gardens. Jeff Chambless will officiate.
Roger was a Vietnam Veteran who was very proud of his service and continued to support veterans throughout his life. He participated in Agent Orange research that was instrumental in getting benefits for those exposed to Agent Orange during their service. He also enjoyed music, both playing and singing with his friends and family creating many cherished memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bradford D. Sandlin and Colene Chambless Sandlin; sibling, Verenda Rene Sandlin Head; grandparents, Amal and Mae Sandlin, and Burton and Bertha Chambless; in law, Gail Nix.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Sandlin; children, Tracy Garner (Chad), and Ryan Sandlin; grandchildren, Jessica Hunt (Kenny), Jordan Davis (Sarah), Sebastian Garner, Ravyn Sandlin, and Brad Lee Sandlin; great grandchildren, Tripp Hunt, Nova Miller, and Gus Hunt.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to American Legion Post of Carbon Hill 300 SW 3rd St. Carbon Hill, AL 35549 or the Alabama Music Hall of Fame 617 Hwy 72 W Tuscumbia, AL 35674.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Lee Sandlin and Tommy Pike.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Davis, Sebastian Garner, Chad Garner, Kenny Hunt, Warren Nunnelly, and Shane Head.
