A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, at Walker Memory Gardens, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Bro. John Jaye will be officiate.
Ron was born and spent his childhood in Alken, SC, before moving to Baltimore, Md., where he graduated from Brooklyn Park High School. From 1962 to 1965, Ron served as an Airman, 1st Class, in the U.S. Air Force. After honorably completing his service, he graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a B.S. in Accounting. He later worked for several prominent companies, including Drummond Company and Med-South, Inc., of Jasper. A devout Christian, Ron served as deacon at First Baptist Church in Jasper for many years and was presently attending Jasper’s Redemption Baptist. He could often be found at the golf course, playing with friends and family. When not playing golf, Ron was rooting for his Arkansas Razorbacks. He never missed a game. Ron loved his family and loved the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Johnson Ginneman and Guy Padgett; siblings, Wayne Padgett, Edward Padgett and Joyce Kress; grandparents, Rueben Oscar Johnson and Josephine Hester Johnson and Capers “Coy” P and Mary Eliza “Marnie” Padgett; in-laws, Langdon and Orean Atchison and Gary Langdon Atchison.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn Atchison Padgett; daughter, Stephanie Padgett Adair (Bill); sons, Steven Lang Padgett (Kristy) and Scott Lane Padgett (Dana); grandchildren, Harper Padgett Adamson (Ben), Joseph Mason Kimbrell, Elizabeth Adair Kaiser (Elliot), Ashley Reid Adair, Jacob Lang Padgett, Chloe Grace Padgett, Logan McKinley Padgett and Mary Katherine Adair; great grandchildren, Ridley Marren Adamson and Charlotte Joan Kaiser; sister-in-law, Dianne Harelle Atchison (Gary) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
