Thurman E. “JT” White Jr., 78, of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Brookwood Baptist Health - Princeton Baptist Medical Center. Visitation will be today, Nov. 11, 2016, from 5 until 9 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, from 1 until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Pisgah Cemetery. Wayne Williams, Marvin Clemmons and Daniel Gann will officiate. JT served as a minister and pastored many churches over the years. He loved doing God’s work until his health kept him from fulfilling the calling on his life. JT loved gardening, flowers and took pride in keeping his home and yards. He worked for about 25 years for Drummond Coal Company. JT loved the friends that he made over the years at his job. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren with all his heart, but most of all he loved his Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his parents, Therman E. White Sr. and Verla Hanes; stepmother, Eva White; daughter-in-law, Rhonda White; brother, Rayburn White; grandparents, Elmus and Catherine White and Cora Hanes Justice; mother and father-in-law, Lee and Carrie Brown; and brother-in-law, Bobby Brown. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shelby Brown White; sons, Jeff White and Jason White (Shannon); grandchildren, Whitney Wright (Todd), Rilee Jaye White, Zeke White, Ashley Thacker (Chris), and Courtney Bishop; great-grandchild, McCoy Wright; and a host of other relatives and many wonderful friends. Pallbearers will be David Quinn, Arnold Frazier, Ray Brown, Todd Wright, Zeke White, Wayne McClendon, Bo Langford, and Terry White. Honorary pallbearers will be McCoy Wright, and the men of Beltona Mines Drummond.
