Carol J. Perkins

She was born March 21, 1932 in Clarksville, a daughter of the late Peter and Hazel Woods Knepp.

Carol, affectionately called Bubba, enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an avid bingo player and during the Steelers’ football season you would not catch her without her Terrible Towel.

She was married in 1951 to John C. “Jack” Sowden, who died January 25, 1976. Then in 1979 she married Clifford E. Perkins, who died August 15, 2008.

Surviving are a son, John Sowden and his wife Karen of Mather; two daughters, Lois Brichetti and her husband Dave of Mather, Janet Vinnenberg and her husband Steve of Cumming, GA; 10 grandchildren Amy Morris, Michael Morris (Heather), Jodi Morris, David Brichetti (Kristy), Kelly Bayles (Darin), Kristie Brichetti, Jack Sowden, Jimmy Sowden (April), Frank Sowden (Nikki), Carly Sowden. She also had two step-grandchildren David and Chris Vinnenberg. She was also blessed with 8 great grandchildren, Mia Nicole Bongiorno, Dominic Sowden, Brock Bayles, Braelynn Bayles, Miles and Trenten Sowden, and Roman and Manny Gardner; a sister Audrey Lorence of Clarksville, Pa and a brother Donald Knepp of Huntingtown, Md.

Deceased in addition to her husbands are two brothers, Paul Knepp, and Peter Knepp Jr. and two sisters Evelyn Robinson and Betty Piccalomini.

Friends will be received on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. the hour of a memorial service in the Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. Following the memorial service a dinner will be served at the Jefferson Firehall. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial to the Greene County Humane Society.
