Charles S. Basinger

He was born December 22, 1938 in Indian Head, Pa, a son of the late Jesse S. and Virginia Bungard Basinger.

Mr. Basinger was a 1956 graduate of Jefferson High School. After graduation he served in the United States Marine Corps.

He was a retired coal miner from Gateway Coal Company.

Mr. Basinger was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and the American Legion Post #954, Jefferson.

Surviving are four children, Dale Basinger of Jefferson, Rita (Ron) Falcon of Rices Landing, Gary (Lora) Basinger of Jefferson, and Joshua Basinger of Waynesburg; six grandchildren, Melissa (Dave) Jamison, Adam Basinger, Emily (Damian) Saab, Justin Falcon, Alicia Basinger and Ty (Morgan) Basinger; two great grandchildren, Bronx and Milan; a sister, Mona Simmons of Waynesburg; two brothers, Benny (Karen) Basinger and Bill (Doris) Basinger both of Waynesburg.

Deceased is a sister, Constance “Connie” Watson; three brothers, Edward A. Basinger, Wayne Basinger and Richard “Dick” Basinger.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Nick Bardo, in the Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #954, Jefferson. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P.
