She was born October 16, 1934 in Clarksville, a daughter of the late George S. and Florence Crawford Wright.
Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of Jefferson High School.
She was a homemaker.
Dorothy was a member of the Hewitt Presbyterian Church, Rices Landing, former member of Clarksville Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, she volunteer for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed gardening and watching the animals.
On June 12, 1951 she married Ralph E. Burwell, who died April 10, 2002.
Surviving are four children, Ralph (Lois) Burwell of Clarksville, Jan (Lee) Kress of Carmichaels, Karen (Albert) Sadler of Greensboro, Chuck (Jeanine) Burwell of Clarksville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
Deceased in addition to her husband is a son, George Burwell; a daughter-in-law, Pattie Burwell; great grandson, Gavin Kress; sisters, Ruth Mahle and Lillian Tretinik; twins, Gerald and Geraldine Wright in infancy.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Dr. Donald P. Wilson, officiating.
