Gary K. Rohanna

He was born January 6, 1968 in Waynesburg, a son of Gary K. and Suzanne Tallerico Rohanna of Waynesburg.

Gary was a 1986 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School. He had attended West Virginia University and received his BS from the University of Maryland.

He moved to Hawaii in 2005 and worked as a consultant in the hotel industry. In October 2009 he was appointed Director of Operations at Aqua Hotels & Resorts, Waikiki, Hawaii. In that role he oversaw all guest service and operations functions.

Prior to moving to Hawaii, Rohanna was General Manager of Loews Beverly Hills Hotel. He began his career with Loews Hotels, working in various capacities at several properties including the Loews Annapolis Hotel, Loews Coronado Bay Resort, the Metropolitan Hotel and, Loews’ flagship, the Regency in New York City. Throughout his hospitality career, Rohanna’s role was significant to the development and implementation of programs that enhance key points of service.

Gary lived by a motto of “Live for Today, Laugh Often, and Love Much!” and had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed the beach, surfing, and hiking with his dogs, Duke, Chuck and Betty.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Michael Rohanna and his wife Mary Kay, Jeremy Rohanna and his wife Nikki, and a sister, Courtney Rohanna, all of Waynesburg; 3 nephews and a niece, Joel, Trey, Kaley and Craig; paternal grandfather, Joseph Tallerico Sr. of Waynesburg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 16, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Fr. Richard Thompson officiating. Followed by a gathering of friends and family from 5:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at Rohanna’s Restaurant, Waynesburg.
