

He was born November 4, 1947 in Brownsville, a son of the late Joseph A. and Irene Helen Sabo Hornick.
Mr. Hornick was a 1965 graduate of Redstone Township High School.
After high school he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and had fought with the 25th infantry division.
Mr. Hornick worked as a coal miner at Marianna #57 coal mine.
He was a former member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, United Mine Workers of America, and the National Rife Association.
Mr. Hornick loved the outdoors, archery hunting, fishing and most of all his family, and to those he was close, a loyal friend.
Surviving are his three daughters, April Hardin (William) of Nemacolin, Amber Cumberledge (Doug) of Clarksville, Joey Bane (John) of Canonsburg; six grandchildren, Nathan Cumberledge, Jeffrey Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Darianne Bane, Madalyn Bane and Lillian Bane; his former wife, Barbara Treece Hornick; a sister, Carol Jenko (Dennis) of Coal Center, and four nieces.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 with Rev. John R. Dorean officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Canonsburg, PA.
