He was born on May 24, 1944 to the late William and Catherine Makcen. He served in the U.S. Army. On June 8, 1968 he married Maxine “Mickey” Sullenberger who preceded him in death on Saturday, April 22, 2023. He retired from Bailey Coal Mine and was Catholic by faith. He was a member of the Waynesburg Moose Lodge and enjoyed golfing with his friends and grandsons.
Surviving is a daughter, Lisa Wamsley of Carmichaels; two grandsons, Brandon Wamsley and Jacob Wamsley both of Carmichaels; brother, John (Beverly) Makcen of Willowick, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen, Catherine, and Sylvia; and brothers, Robert, George, and William Jr.
