It is with great sadness that the family of Arlene Stirn (The Big R) of Jensen Beach, Florida share that she passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014. Arlene was born in Passaic County, New Jersey on November 6, 1937. She was preceded in death by her beloved Husband Jack, her Son Henry Michalowski, Brother Butch Strys, and her closest confidant and best friend that was more like a Sister than a Cousin, Marilyn Wilde, as well as Marilyn’s Husband Richard (Dick).
Arlene is survived by her Brother, John Strys, his Wife Laura and their two children Cassie and Robert; her Son Richard Marsh and his Wife Marie; her Daughter in law Avis Michalowski and Grandson Jesse; her Daughter Linda Sechelski, her Husband Leonard, and three Grandchildren Alissa (Cameron) Null, Ryan, and Stephanie; her Daughter Brenda Woolston, her Husband Bill, and Grandson Nicholas Brunston; and her Son Tom Buffa, his Wife Doreen, and Grandson Logan, as well as two Step Granddaughters Ashley (David) Wilson and their Son David Ares, and Shannon (Cody) Studer and their Daughter Mackenzie.
Arlene is also survived by her Nieces Debbie and Paul Franek; Barbara Wilde and her Daughters Jessica (Paul), and Cassandra Constandelis; Diane Wilde and her three children Vanessa, Courtney, and Steven Scarmazzo; and her Nephew Richard Wilde, his wife Kim, and her two children Jennifer and Dillon.
Arlene touched many lives throughout her 76 years and will be greatly missed and survived by her many lifelong friends ranging from New Jersey to Florida and everywhere in between, as well as her friends from Cinnamon Tree, Riverside Bank, Martin Memorial Healthcare Fitness, Dogs and Cats Forever, and her spiritual friends and confidants from Morningside Church.
Arlene was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Friend and a wonderful Christian woman. Arlene would have rather go without herself to share what little she had with anyone that was in need. Later in life Arlene devoted herself to volunteer work that included giving her time and love to Dogs and Cats Forever, as well as conducting Mission Trips with Food For the Poor to Jamaica and Haiti, and a trip to Israel with Morningside Church to help those that were less fortunate. Everyone whose life Arlene touched feels blessed to have had her in their lives and hearts. Her legacy and life will be carried on by all of us that cherish and love her so dearly.
Rest in peace our wonderful, loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend. You may be eternally sleeping now, but you will forever be with us in our hearts and souls. We love and miss you Mom!
In lieu of flowers, Arlene’s family is asking that donations be made in her honor to Food for The Poor. Arrangements are under the direction of Aycock Funeral Home located at 950 NE Jensen Beach Boulevard, Jensen Beach, Florida. Viewing to be held Thursday, February 27th from 2 pm to 6 pm with the Service to follow from 6 pm to 7 pm.
