

Carole O. Keatts passed away on August 24th 2022. She was originally from Beaumont, Texas the daughter of Max William O’Neal and Rachel Boyce Trahan. Carole’s family moved from Texas to Little Rock, Arkansas where she attended high school. During her youth she enjoyed the Girl Scout camping outings and cheerleading. A dancer of ballet and tap Carole was always very active. She became an instructor and owner of a dance studio in Little Rock. Carole met Henry in the summer of 1962 and were married at Saint Andrew’s Cathedral in Little Rock on December 2nd 1962. They welcomed their first son Timothy the following summer and moved to the family dorms of The University of Texas. Christopher was born in 1969 and the family moved to Long Island, New York in 1971. Carole was Henry’s lab technician, a role she kept until her retirement from Suffolk County Community College in Riverhead, NY. A golfer and tennis player, Carole and Henry spent many hours out of doors enjoying sunshine and friendships. On December 12, 1980 the family welcomed their third son Robert Shawn. Carole enjoyed motherhood very much, becoming involved in leadership roles in the PTA of East Moriches school district. After 35 years of living in Long Island, Carole and Henry retired to Homosassa, Florida and continued to enjoy tennis, golf and dinner outings. They welcomed three grandchildren. Abigail Katen Keatts, Christopher’s daughter, was born on September 9, 2009. Timothy and Geraldine had Daniel Carroll Keatts on January 7, 2011 and Isabel Ines Keatts on June 3, 2014. Her grandchildren were the light of her eyes and she doted on them with love. She spent many outings with Abigail in amusement parks in Florida, and played video games with Daniel, helped him with his scouting work and shared her interest in insects, dancing and dressing up with Isabel. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Henry Carroll Keatts, her three sons; Timothy and his wife Geraldine, Christopher and his wife Maria, Robert Shawn and grandchildren Abigail, Daniel and Isabel Keatts. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 starting at 11:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
