

Gary Wayne Friede, 81, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 26, 1944, in Fargo, North Dakota, raised in Chinook, Montana, where he built lifelong friendships and developed a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and community. Later moving to Salt Lake City, Utah and Jensen Beach, Florida, Gary continued to make meaningful friendships and memories throughout his days.
Gary proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. His sense of duty, loyalty, and integrity carried through every aspect of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend — always ready with a smile, a story, or a helping hand.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Friede; his children, Brandy Wanless, Brenda & Ryan Lowry, Shelley & Mark Jones; and his cherished grandchildren Ashlee Harding, Kolton Jones, Haylee Moravec, Gabriel Job, Gentry Job, and Tallon Wanless. Gary also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply. Preceded in death by his daughter Robin Job.
Gary’s life was defined by kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family. He will be remembered for his strong spirit, his gentle heart, and the countless ways he made the world brighter for those around him.
A celebration of life will take place tomorrow, Friday November 14, 2025 to honor Gary’s life and legacy at the family home – 12:00pm-3:00pm.
