

Gerald “Jerry” Peter Yakuben, age 84, was born in Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts on July 3, 1941 and he peacefully passed away at Port Saint Lucie Hospital in Port Saint Lucie, Florida with a massive heart attack on July 13, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry attended and graduated, as well as his sweetheart, Eva, as the 1st full year class from Narragansett Regional High School in Templeton, Massachusetts. In July 1959, Jerry joined the U.S. Navy where he sailed and traveled many countries in Europe. Throughout this time, Jerry and Eva stayed in touch through daily letters, and ended up marrying on August 13, 1960, after Jerry’s honorable discharge from the military. Together, they started life as a unit back in Massachusetts where Jerry adjusted back to civilian life. After trying numerous jobs, Jerry settled with the New England Telephone Company. To get his foot in the door, he started off as a Janitor, but after tests, schooling, difficult exams and a total of 36 years in the company, he ended up retiring in the Central Office at the age of 54. Jerry enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and playing Pool. He also enjoyed Farming, Gardening, playing with his trucks and taking care of his “Big Barn”.
Jerry leaves behind his devoted wife of 65 years, Eva “His Bride”, which he referred to her as that until his last breath; daughter, Robin (Yves) Cyr; grandchildren, Crystal, Joshua (Kelly) Yakuben; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Lilyana, Aiden, Brandon and Gabby; and his loving sister, Jenelle (John) Gilbert. Jerry is predeceased by his son, Randy Yakuben.
Jerry will be laid to rest in his family cemetery in Phillipston, Massachusetts.
