Jack (John) Leonard Decker, 88, of Stuart, FL, passed away peacefully at his home December 11, 2019. He was pre-deceased by his parents Alice Hubbell Decker Grace and Thomas David Decker, along with his beloved wife Joanne Decker and brother and sister-in-law, David and Joyce Decker. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Tammie Decker, Santa Fe, TX; two grandchildren, Rachel (Derek) Cunningham, La Marque, TX, and Jaclyn (Russell) Delesandri, Santa Fe, TX; three great grandchildren, Vance Wade Delesandri, Cora Marie Delesandri, and Kaysen Blaze Cunningham; nieces Coë Decker, Port St Lucie, FL and Devyn Willey, Myrtle Beach, SC and nephews David Decker and Garrett Decker, both of Jensen Beach, FL. Also surviving are cousins Janice and Dave Lutsic, Johnson City, NY, along with numerous cousins and dear friends. Jack served as a radio operator in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from IBM after 32 years as a purchasing manager. He was very proud to be inducted into the New York State high school football hall of fame, and earned the nickname Jack Rabbit Decker. He was a member of the Nettles Island Veterans Group.
A funeral will be offered at All Saints’ Episcopal Church on January 31, 2020 at 11:00 am, 2303 NE Seaview Drive, Jensen Beach, FL 34957. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to the charity of one’s choice in Jack Decker’s memory.
