Jose Manuel Quadros (Joe), the coolest, most easy-going, fun-loving husband and dad died peacefully on March 1, 2020 after suffering from complications due to cardiac arrest. He left this Earth while in his beloved sunny Florida surrounded by his wife and children at the age of 70.
Joe was born July 2, 1949 to Urbina de Luz Costa and João “Bailão” Quadros on the beautiful Azorean island of Graçiosa. He was raised with two sisters and two brothers; Maria Urbina Eiró (Helder), Maria de Jesus Bettencourt (Raimundo, deceased), Joao Manuel Quadros (Antonina), and Antonio Costa de Quadros (Conceiçâo). It was during his childhood when he gained his love for warm weather, the ocean, fishing, cooking and eating copious amounts of fish.
Always modest about his heroism, Joe joined the Portuguese Army at 21 years old and served in Guinea Bissau, Africa. By age 23, a beautiful young lady, Marly appeared into his life and stole his heart. On July 31, 1975 the two got married and began their life-long journey. They moved to the United States and began the hard work of “Making the donuts”, and their true endeavor of living, including dancing and traveling. Along the way, they had three children – Danny Quadros (Carmen), Eileen Bivalacqua (Salvador), and Ashley Quadros (Cedric). In their children, they instilled the values of hard work, harder play, traveling and sharing life and love with friends and family.
Join us in celebrating Joe’s life on Wednesday, March 11 from 4pm – 7pm at Aycock Funeral Home, 950 NE Jensen Beach Blvd., Jensen Beach, FL. There will be a funeral service on Thursday, March 12 at 11am at Saint Martin de Porres Church, 2555 NE Savanna Rd., Jensen Beach, FL.
For those who know Joe, you will understand his unconditional love for Xena, a rescue-princess from the Azores. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society of Treasure Coast, in tribute of Jose Quadros to help save homeless animals.
