Linda Rose Walsh (Wald) passed away at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce after a brief illness on December 23, 2021. She was born March 25th 1952 in New York City to Lore (Neuberger) and Herbert Wald. A true “city girl”, she grew up in Queens. She was the younger sister of Stuart Wald. Linda loved fashion and putting outfits together. Her mother passed when she was in high school, so she and her brother Stuart went to live with their grandmother Frieda Stern who escaped from Germany during the Holocaust with her daughter Lore. Freida’s husband and (Edit 2 sons) did not make it out of Auschwitz. Frieda and Lore were lucky to escape with their lives. Linda met her husband Richard and they were married when she was in her early 20’s. She was a homemaker of a beautiful home in Medford, Long Island, NY. Their daughter Catherine was born on January 22, 1977, and their family was complete. They moved to Hobe Sound, FL in the early 1980’s. Linda enjoyed being a homemaker and raising their daughter. Many happy days were spent boating in the rivers and ocean surrounding Hobe Sound and cooking wonderful family meals. Every year they enjoyed visiting Key West and eventually bought a timeshare there. They always looked forward to enjoying sunset sails, jet skis and even snorkeling in the Keys. Linda and Richard divorced in 1996. Linda lived in Jensen Beach and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. Linda was generous to a fault. She would help anyone who asked and would literally give anyone the shirt off of her back. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her giving spirit and generosity. She is survived by her daughter Catherine Kiernan (Walsh), one beautiful granddaughter Nora Kiernan, and her son in law Brian Kiernan, all of Massachusetts, as well as her brother Stuart Wald of Jensen Beach and his children and grandchildren. She will be missed, but her generous spirit will live on in her children.
