Muriel “Mike(y)” Melrose of Stuart, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the age of 100. She was born on October 3, 1923 in Huntington, New York to Raymond and Adrianna Van Sise. She was married to Robert Arthur “Art” Melrose, who proceeded her in death.
Muriel is survived by her daughter, Nancy and Son-in-Law William Weber. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Alker her grand-daughters, Heather Nowak (Marty) and Holly Weber (Jason Gioia), her great granddaughter, Alexandra Nowak, Sister-in-Law Helen Sears and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Muriel’s nieces Polly Melrose and Tese Alker for providing love and care through the years. The family would also like to thank the staff of Vitas Hospice, who cared for Muriel over the last year with compassion, expertise and empathy. Their kindness will live in our hearts always because they helped make her most difficult days bearable.
There will be a private memorial service for Muriel..
