Richard was born in Gilmore City, Iowa. He had been a resident of Jensen Beach for the past year coming from Crown Pointe, Indiana.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Prior to retirement, he was the Owner of Illinois Cargo for 40 years in Harvey, Illinois.
He was predeceased by his son, Richard R. Benoit.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Carol Benoit, one son, Marc R. Benoit; two daughters, Laura A. Benoit-Jenkins; Jodie M. Wasserott and her husband Jason; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Aycock Funeral Home, 950 NE Jensen Beach Blvd., Jensen Beach, FL 34957, Tel # (772) 334-1200. Funeral Service will be follow at 6:30pm in our chapel.
Inurnment will be at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
