Charles Watson Meeks, Jr., age 77, of Fall Branch, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Cumberland, Maryland, a son of the late Charles Watson Meeks, Jr. and Marion Virginia Davis Meeks.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was of the Catholic faith. He retired with 38 years of service from Bethlehem Steel as a Class A Millwright. He was a former member of the VFW in Maryland. Charles enjoyed playing guitar, pool, chess and rummy. He was a handyman that could fix anything and often friends and neighbors would come to him for help. He was a loving husband, father, and played the father figure role for his three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Meeks; one daughter, Shawn Meeks Clark and husband Ricky Giddings; three grandchildren, Samantha Shrider and husband Christopher, Charles W. Meeks, and Amanda Pentiah and husband Amlan; and three great grandchildren, Oliver Watson Pentiah, Sylviana Pentiah, and William Watson Shrider.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00PM with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. A Private Committal Service and Interment will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military honors to be rendered by the Boone Dam VFW Post #4933 and members of the Navy Funeral Honors team. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Due to COVID-19, for everyone’s protection, all visitors are required to wear a mask and social distancing will be observed.
