Jerome Chad Buck, age 50, of Gray, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, the son of the late JD Buck and Joyce Leonard Buck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ira Nathaniel and Mary Ruth Jenkins Buck; his maternal grandparents, Oney Keevil and Rebecca Alma Scott Leonard; and his cousin who was like a brother to him, Jason Cansler.
Chad was a graduate of Daniel Boone High School Class of 1993. He worked as an electricians helper at Floral Daniels and later in maintenance at East Tennessee State University before retiring due to health complications from surgery. He cherished spending time with his family and friends and his beloved pets, three dogs, Willow, Gizmo, Bogey and his cat Mittens. His hobbies included, watching wrestling and bowling, which brought him great joy.
Chad will be remembered as a kindhearted soul with a heart of gold. He was known for his willingness to help others and always ready to give the shirt off his back. The last verse he studied was Psalm 62:6-7, He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress, I shall not be shaken. On God, rest my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
He is survived by his loving aunt and uncles, Jan and Michael Cansler, Arthur and Brenda Buck; as well as several cousins and devoted friends who will deeply miss his generosity and warm spirit.
Committal Service and Interment will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10:00AM in Garden of the Last Supper at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the local Animal Shelter of choice in Chad’s memory.
