Stephen Harold Camp, 70, was reunited with the love of his life, Phyllis Camp, during the evening hours of Saturday (February 23, 2019) following an extended illness. Stephen was born on October 30, 1948 in Atlanta, GA to the late Harris & Juanita (Smith) Camp.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a NASCAR fan as well as a Vols fan. Steve unselfishly served our country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the three Purple Heart medals.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Steve was preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie and Billy Howard Johnson; and sister, Betty “Mickey” Reagan.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Gregory Camp; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will greet guests and share memories on Tuesday (February 26, 2019) from noon to 2 p.m. at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of Monte Vista Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dale Cunningham officiating.
Steve will be laid to rest with his beloved wife on Tuesday (February 26, 2019) at 3 p.m. in the Garden of Christus at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Military rites will be provided by Boone Dam VFW Post 4933.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
