
Dorothy Mildred (Capretta) Bonner AKA “Mother of Ascension”, 98, of Pataskala, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Concord Manor Residential Care. She was born on February 27, 1918 in Columbus, OH, a daughter to the late Carl and Agnes (Lilley) Capretta. Dorothy retired from United Telephone Co. of Ohio and was a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristarian of Church of the Ascension. She loved sewing, gardening and had a strong devotion to the mass and the rosary. Dorothy was a former nominee for Catholic Woman of the Year. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Bernard John; daughter-in-law, Mary; granddaughter, Stephanie and brothers and sisters. Dorothy is survived by her children, Thomas (Sandy), Jerry (Peri) and Christine (Merle); grandchildren, Gary (Treva), Andy Bonner, Laura (Greg) Smith, Cory (Amy) Smith, Kyle Bonner, Adam Bonner, Cody Smith and Zachary Bonner; great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Madison, Grady, Alyssa Waltrip and Carson Bonner; great-great-grandson, Lincoln Tesseny and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at CROUSE-KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Church of the Ascension, 555 S. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031, with Father J. L. Reichert and Father Richard Metzger officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
