

Kenneth Dale Brown, of Johnstown Ohio, was born August 24, 1931 in Akron Ohio. On February 25th 2015 with his family by his side, the gates of Heaven were opened and he was received into the arms of his Lord.
Ken was a graduate of Gauley Bridge High School in 1949. He then joined the US Air Force where he served his country for 22 years, which in-part was during the Vietnam War. With many duties over the years, he ended his AF career as an instructor of maintenance on the C130 aircraft and retired in 1970 as a Master Sergeant with Honors.
Some of Ken’s favorite things throughout his life were playing handball, fishing, wood working, raising Boxers, and he enjoyed his cars. What was most important to him was his love and caring for his family. He built two homes in the Johnstown area that he and his family resided in through the years. He was a faithful Christian and was a member of the Johnstown Baptist church since his residence in Johnstown, where he enjoyed worshiping and singing in the choir. Ken was also a member of the Mason’s. Those who knew him knew that he was a man of God and loved the Lord.
He was a faithful and loving husband to his wife (Betty) Elizabeth of 62 years. His children, Christy (Jerry) Garrabrant, Angela (Rick) Horn, Carolyn Brown-Benedict and James Brown, Grandchildren Paul, Andy, and Ben Horn, Ashlie Sharrock, and Lindsay (Ben) Stepp, Great- grandchildren Gavin and Aedan Sharrock, and Emmett Stepp were very dear to him and his faithfulness, love and care of them never faltered.
He was preceded in death by his Father Lester L Brown and Mother Ordie Bell (Bruffy) Brown, Brother William Brown and Sister-in-law Delores Brown, Sister Ella Ruth, her Husband Bernard and their son Jeremy.
A Celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held on Sunday March 8, 2015. Calling hours will be at 2:30 pm and memorial services at 3:00 pm. at the Johnstown Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to the Johnstown Baptist Church. An online memorial will be at www.cksammons.com. Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
