OBITUARY

Margaret S. VanderHulst

12 May, 196016 March, 2021

Margaret Sofia VanderHulst 60, of Wesley Chapel, FL passed away March 16, 2021, after a brief battle with COVID-19. Margaret was born May 12, 1960 to Mieczyslaw and Zofia Sulek in Bochnia, Poland. In 1980 she left her native Poland, with a group of others to seek asylum in Austria as Poland was still under communist control at that time. In 1981 her group was offered relocation to Southern California. There she learned English, began working, and eventually obtained her US citizenship in 1991. In 1993, she met Len while both were working at Baxter Healthcare in Irvine CA. They were married on April 7th, 1995, while living in Trabuco Canyon California. In 1996 she started her family with the birth of her daughter Monique. In 1997 she moved to Grayslake, IL, and the family expanded again with the birth of her son Alec. The family moved again in 2004 to Powell Ohio as Len's career had grown with Mettler-Toledo. As her children grew up and went off to university, she and Len had the opportunity to relocate again to Wesley Chapel, Florida. Margaret was a loving and caring mother to her children, Monique and Alec as well as a devoted and supportive wife to her husband Len. She was a dear friend to many and those that really got to know her loved her for who she was, a fun-loving, deeply caring, and sensitive, but unapologetic as to who she was. She is gone from us far too soon and she will be greatly and painfully missed by us all. Margaret was predeceased by her father Mieczyslaw and mother Zofia; father-in-law Adrian and mother-in-law Mary. She is survived by her husband Len and children Monique and Alec. Brother Zenon ( Malgorzata), brother Maciej (Lucyna). Sister-in-law Mary-Ann (Keith) and sister-in-law Sandy, and 8 nieces and nephews. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations are made to Tampa General Hospital COVID Fund, there is a link provided below. There will be a visitation in Temple Terrace, Florida and there will also visitation at Columbus area of Ohio. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church in Powell Ohio on March 30, 2021 at 10:00 am and can be watched on the following live stream link Online Masses – St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (stjoanofarcpowell.org)

Len, Monique and Alec,

I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday and I came to the yarn aisle and thought of your mom. I had been to a blanket class at one of those DIY workshops over a year ago. Your mom saw my post and asked about it. I told her I would show her how to make it and what to buy. To my surprise, she sent me this photo a few hours later. 😊. I will miss our chats on the way to the mailbox to catch up about neighborhood gossip. Know that she will be watching out for you all from above. Eric and Sarah Yeagle

Margaret was a much loved and respected part of our community & more importantly she was a wonderful friend, we enjoyed her wit and joie de vivre as she was always so much fun to have around, fun and smiling with a twinkle in her eye.
On a personal note I loved having a fellow European to share experiences with, I think I can speak for all the ladies of our community when I say how sad we are that you will not join us for our future events, we will cherish our shared evenings of fun and wine and we will raise a glass (or two!) to Margaret when we can safely resume our social calendar. I hope the priest was right and that she can join us in spirit.
We all send love and condolences to Len, Alec & Monique, to the kids, your Mom was so excited & happy that she would have everyone home for Christmas and she was so incredibly proud of you all xxx

Sincere condolences to the Vanderhulst family , particularly the husband and children of Margaret. Oh how Covid-19 continues to devastate families as it ravages nation after nation. Gladly though, through the eyes of faith, we can see ahead of us wherein our Creator Jehovah has purposed to rid the earth of everything that causes pain to humans. In the book of Revelation, Chapter 21, Verses 3 - 4, our hopes are lifted by the words written- “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, ......And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” What a thrilling prospect ahead. Family members, be strong and take comfort from our lord. We will be soon delivered. Once again, sincere condolences.
Kindest regards

We are so very sad to hear about the passing of our dear Margaret. We have known Margaret and Len for about 2 years and have had many fun times together.

Margaret was an exceptional person, always in a good mood, positive and full of life. She really had a way to find a place in people’s heart. Thinking of Margaret, we see her beautiful smile.

We will miss Margaret and our conversations so much. She had a happy life but she was taken way too soon.

Alec and Monique - Your mom was very proud of you two, she loved you so much and will always love you and watch over you from heaven.

Len - We know how hard it is for you to loose your sweet wife. We will alway be here for you.

Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss and we want you to know that Margaret and your family will always be in our hearts.

With love,
Jim & Rosa

Dear Len, Monique and Alec,

On behalf of my daugther Natalie and myself, we would like to express our sincere condolences on the lost of your wife and mother.

A few years ago, on a quite Sunday afternoon, I was sitting at Grill Smith and sitting next to me was Len and Margarette. We started chatting and from that moment forward, we developed an awesome friendship which grew over the years.

I remember the times when Len was away on business trips, but every Wednesday when I would go to GS, your mom would show up and would sit next to me and we would talk our hearts out for an hour or so.

In this life it very hard to find TRUE friends and your Dad and Mom became that to me. As time past, we became very close and started spending every moment we could together along with Jim and Marianne.

I cherish every moment I spent taking to your Mom .... she always questioned and challenge me on things I was and still going through in my life. At the end .... she always said to me “ Alfonso, dont be afraid, go for what your heart tells you to do!!!!!!

I was away for over a year dealing with the death of my mother and then the pandemic locked down in Mexico.

Last time we were together as usual was at GS on early Dec 2020 and we had so much fun as usual.

As I am writing this words, I have tears rolling down my face as I will miss her... she was a TRUE friend and boy was she my interrogator!!! She was one of a kind and again as I said before very unique person you don’t get to meet every day.!!!! I thank God I have the privilege to get to know her.

As we say in aviation “ God’s Speed Margarette, YOU are cleared to FLY AWAY FREE””. We will catch with you sometime in the future.

GOD Bless Margarette and Bless you Len, Monique and Alec.

Capt. Alfonso Negroe and Natalie Negroe.
