Mary Jane Downey, 89, of Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, August20, 2016 at her home. Mary was born on November 29, 1926 in Columbus, OH, daughter to the late Raymond and Margaret (Breece) Millay. Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph. Mary was a member at Church of the Ascension. Mary is survived by her children, Mary Margaret (James) Hall, Tom (Betty) Downey and Denise (Sam) Sherrod; grandchildren, Janie Hall, Judy (Mike) Sies, Chad (Melissa) Downey, Mike (Samantha) Downey, Brian and Megan Sherrod; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, August 29,2016 at 10:30 am at Church of the Ascension, 555 S. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031 with Father J.L. Reichert officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Mary’s memory.
