Thelma Miller

Mrs. Thelma Casto-Miller went to be with the Lord, her husband and twin sister on July 6, 2012. Thelma was born in Jackson County, West Virginia, on March 13, 1918. She was 94 years 3 months and 23 days old. She was the last surviving child of Elijah Casto and Emma Carolyn Rhodes-Casto family. She moved to Dunbar, West Virginia in her teens. She married Clyde Ivan Miller on June 15th, 1940. After their marriage Clyde and Thelma moved back to Jackson county where they lived until 1960 when they moved to Johnstown Ohio. After moving to Johnstown she joined the Johnstown Church of Christ. Her husband, Clyde, died in August , 1978. She was preceded in death by her parents , Elijah Casto and Emma Carolyn Rhodes-Casto, four brothers Okey Elmer, Theodore Jennings (TJ), Otho, and James Mason and two sisters Elizabeth Rose Casto, and identical twin Velma Casto Hill. She is survived by seven children , one son Clyde Ivan Miller Jr. (Becky). Six daughters Barbara Cordle (Bobbie Ann) of Tallahassee FL., Emma Mae Sayre (Wink) and her husband Everette of Evans West Virginia, Doris Faye Simons and Nancy Sue Miller of Johnstown, Ohio, Sandy Kay Showers and her husband Steven of Carlisle, PA, and Kathy Chase of Pataskala Ohio. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Lisa Dawn Miller, Brenda Gail Miller and Daniel Patrick (Tiffany) Miller, Bruce Allen (Tammy) Sayre and Brian Ray Sayre, and Jessica Lynn Simons, Jacob Steven and Abigail Elizabeth Showers, and Kelley Ann Chase. Eight great grandchildren; three great grandsons Zachary and Benjamin Smith, Quentin Amstutz. Five great granddaughters Brooklynn Sayre Hunt, Shyann and Ashley Jackson, Maya Miller, and Sophia Amstutz. Friends may call at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N Main St, Johnstown Oh, 43031 on Wednesday July 11th, 2012 from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday , July 12th 2012 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Larry Hiles officiating.
