

He was born in Ilesha, Osun State, Nigeria, on April 15, 1947, to the late Peju Abe and Isaac Oke Awoyemi. Bosun graduated from Igbobi College and received a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from University of Georgia, Athens in 1980 and a master of science degree in Interior Design from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa in 1982. He married Iyabode Joy Awoyemi (neé Anofi) on September 3, 1975.
Prior to his college education, he worked at the First Bank of Nigeria (then known as the Standard Chartered Bank) where he was awarded a certificate in French and an AIB (1 & 2) in banking. He recently worked for the City of Atlanta as Architectural Engineer in the Office of Building.
Bosun is survived by three children; Adeola Awoyemi, of London, England; Olamipo Awoyemi, of Atlanta, Georgia; and Funlola Gaddis, of Montgomery, Alabama. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
The memorial service will take place at the Trans-Atlantic Arcade Event Hall in Forest Park, Georgia at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 followed by a reception at the same location.
