I've struggled with what I would say on here to honor my Mom.There are never enough words to say everything that needs to be said. My Mom was a loving person who thought of others above herself. She lived her life on her terms and never apologized for that. She was a funny loving woman who had many children. She raised 6 kids with my Dad. They were divorced a lot longer than they were married but make no mistake they worked and struggled together for many years. I believe he was there when she passed to take her hand and live the rest of eternity dancing, laughing and living with the Lord. I know it's a hell of a party. I will be there some day. My heartfelt prayers go out to Drema's family in their loss. One of my memories of being with Drema was when we walked to the Slab Fork company store together. We joked playfully and she would throw her head back and laugh heartily. The sun was shining bright on her beautiful red hair and being teenagers we were enjoying every bit of our walk together. (She was a young teenager and I was an older teenager at that time.) Our precious memories are many. We pray the Lord will cradle her close to his bosom and comfort her. I'm sending my heartfelt sadness of my sister Drema Ann's passing. She remembered my birthday in January by calling me on the phone. I remember babysitting for the three youngest sisters, Drema, Bonnie and Patty in their childhood. Many memories abound with Drema at the old homeplace at Slab Fork/Hotchkiss, WV. Drema was a high spirited lady and loved and lived her life with gusto. May she rest in peace now being free of pain. My prayers are with Drema's children and all of the family. We may not have been together as much as I would have liked but we knew we loved each other from afar, regardless. You are my aunt, my family, my blood, and you hold a special place in my heart. You are now with Grandma and Grandpa Birchfield, your sister Dorothy, many relatives and all of our ancestors. They have waited for you with open arms. How comforting that is to your loved ones left on earth. My sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with the family, my cousins, and friends.

I love you Aunt Ann! The Lord has given you your wings and now you can fly as an angel, like you have always been to so many people here on earth! I love Ann. We got into a lot of trouble us being teenagers and growing up. Ann was a special lady to me and she'll be missed. I can remember what she said when we'd get caught. She was a fun person, to grow up knowing she was going to be there regardless. I loved Ann and she will be missed and,never forgot.I will forever remember her dancing doing stroke it.

To My "Second Mama":  Ann, the next time I hear the thunder roll and the skies rumble, I will think of you and smile. My heart will feel the flutter of one of God's doves within my heart and I will know that you and Les are once again astride a motorcycle and racing through Heaven's clouds, your arms tight around him, the wind blowing through your hair, and your mouth wide open in sheer laughter! My heart is sad that you are no longer here with us but happy that you have reached the summit of joy and happiness that we all hope to see someday. I only met your mom once . so I don't have a story to tell except she has an amazing bunch of girls. I've enjoyed meeting you all and some twice but mostly I love the friendship and bond that I have with Leslie. I do so hope that you all find peace and know that she is in gods grace now. Ann was so much more than a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandma, she was a truly amazing woman. She treated all who knew her like family, I just always remember her  laughing, singing and dancing around all the time. She never judged anyone she loved us the way we were. She was like a second mom to me and Lorie, and more than that she was our friend. My heart will forever have a hole in it that only Ann could fill. RIP Ann, I love you and will miss you forever

I met Ann at a family function years ago.  I don't even remember what is was for'  what I do remember is that she was so vibrant and full of life.  She made me laugh and feel so welcome.  I will miss her much..  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
