Aunt Laverne was a special Aunt to me. After I lost my daughter I went through some very dark times. She would always pick me up, and encourage me to go on. She lost two of hers, and I don't know how she made it through. Even in her own grief she was always there for me. I will be forever grateful. I love you Aunt Laverne

So many memories, as I have been blessed with being married to her baby  boy for more than 30 years.  

But my favorite memories, the ones I think of often were back when we used to play canasta for hours with her and Clarence.  Back in simpler times.  We laughed so much!  The phone would ring and Clarence would over -exaggerate and throw his hands up- 'here we go!!'. And Laverne would try to ignore him and talk but she always laughed!  Then she would come back and playfully put him in a headlock, every time..  it didn't even matter who won (even though she and I usually did - duh, she had the pen!)

She and Clarence were soulmates and it was an inspiration for a lifelong commitment.  I miss those days, and perhaps it's time to pass on the tradition by teaching our kids canasta.  

I'm so thankful for the good times, and the good traits I see in Andy every single day that I know she instilled in him.  

Rest in peace Laverne.  You have earned it.

I have so many great memories of you.. I will always be thankful that my children had you as an extra mee maw growing up. They both knew where to get a great peanut butter sandwich anytime of the day. I know that you are dancing with pop pop in the clouds today. 
Thank you for teaching me to make fried pies and how to make bows like a champ.  I am so very thankful that the last day I saw you that you were having a good day and was able to remember who I was and that you were your usual spunky self. Maybe God knew I needed that after losing my mom considering you were such a big big part of my life for so long. I love you Mee Maw..... Always 

My Aunt Laverne  has always been my favorite. She and my mom cut up all the time and I tell people I get my personality honestly from her and my mom. I love her very much and will miss her terribly. I am thankful I got to sit with her for a while a few weeks ago and spend some time with her. Praying for all the family for peace and comfort. 

As a small boy growing up  during the summer  I would get to go  spend some time with my them,,Me and George ( I won't tell ya'll his  nick name) were more like brothers than cousins,,We even looked alike,,except I'm better looking. She was a good cook,,,we'd be eating and she would ask me how did it taste....I'd think for a second and then I'd say 
It taste like more 

I will always remember as a child having such fun visiting Aunt Laverne and Uncle Clarence, and all my cousins.  She was always my favorite Aunt.  Always laughing, joking with us kids.  I remember her coming by my mom’s house for her 80 birthday, and keeping us in stitches.  I will always have fond memories and will miss her dearly.
