Myrtle was born in Dundee, Florida. After the family moved to Atlanta, she attended Lakewood Heights Elementary School and Fulton High School. She worked for Herb O’Neal Photography Studio for seventeen years and later for the Clayton County Fire Department and the Probate Court of Jonesboro. She retired in 1996.
Myrtle was very talented in multiple areas. She faithfully taught a children’s Sunday School class for many years as well as singing in the choir. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress, and crafter. Around her 40th birthday, she began painting lessons and became a highly accomplished painter, holding a one-woman show at the Jonesboro Public Library and gifting many people with her paintings. She freely helped family and church members, offering hospitality to all.
The family is grateful to the personnel at Concordia’s Care and Rehab of Fayetteville for their care of Myrtle for the past years.
