Robert Lee Jones

He was born in Griffin, Georgia on September 9, 1938 son of late Clover Lee Jones and Etta Leola (McClain) Jones. He is survived by his daughter Robbie Jean (Jones) Henson, son in law Timothy Mark Henson, Granddaughter Ashley Nicole (Henson) Quick, Great grandsons Noah Michael Quick and Gaven Asher Quick, Siblings Randy Mark Jones and Joyce Annette (Jones) Jay. He is preceded in death with his loving parents, brother William Eugene Jones and late wife Jean Eva (Arnold) Jones.

Robert graduated from Jonesboro High School and went on to graduate as an exceptional scholar from Clayton State College. He served in the U.S. Army as an active member of our country. He dedicated 25 plus years as a committed employee to Enterprise where he passionately enjoyed his work. Robert had many qualities that defined his life such as an independent spirit, a man of great integrity, honesty, principles and unwavering faith. He was a collector of classic mustangs, rare coins, watches and anything to honor Jesus. He was a loyal devine christian to his ministry groups and was a helping hand to all in need. He enjoyed a good ball game, listening to Elvis Presley, celebrating holidays with his family and devoting his life to his Lord and Savior. His calm, peaceful and positive outlook on life was adored by anyone who knew him. Jesus was his best friend and he will forever be in his presence in life and in death. He will be deeply missed by his surviving family.

A visitation for Robert will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Horis A. Ward, INC. Tara Chapel, 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, GA 30236. A funeral will occur Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 681 North Ave, Jonesboro, GA 30236. An interment will occur Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Sherwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 6841 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro, GA 30236.
