Mom was the heart of our home and family. She was wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A lifelong Vietnamese native, Mom was well-loved in her Vietnamese communities and St Joseph and Vietnamese Catholic Church. She was the mother of nine children: Phong (Nguyet), Loi (Hoa), Thanh, Thay (James), Nga (Chuck), Minh (deceased), Son (Kim), Hai, and Yen (Joe), in a happy and loving home to be independent, successful, and thoughtful adults. Mom was married for 65 years to her soulmate, Huy, who preceded her in death.
Her love knew no bounds, and she extended that same warmth and guidance to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a beloved grandmother to Phoung, Peter, Carolyn (Ryan), Kelvin, Andrew, Anthony, Michael, Caitlyn, Thomas, Andrea, Christopher, Ally, Conner and two great grandsons Kaiden and Kian was the "loving and protective great granny," there are no rules was set and generally spoiling them rotten.
Mom was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. Mom was known for her charity works and community services. Her heart and soul are to help the communities of all color. She often visited the nursing home and helped anyone came her way. Her hearty laugh and kind heart are no bound. She had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart always willing. A woman of enduring love, she lived her life as a testament to the power of family, the strength of faith, and the beauty of simple, steadfast devotion
She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. At mom's request, there will be no sadness, but before she passed, she made it known she wanted us all to share a laugh and raise a glass in celebration of her journey home with Christ.
