

Daniel Luther Eide, Sr. Passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at the age of 62. He was born in New Haven, CT and after several moves, settled in Ridgewood, NJ. Dan graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1969 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in chemical engineering in 1973. He earned his MBA from Florida Institute of Technology in 1986. Dan was a member of the Professional Engineers Society.
Dan's professional career included many and varied positions at Carl Gordon Industries, RCA, SBG Systems, Walgreen's and most recently, Technology Transfer Services.
Dan married his childhood sweetheart and best friend, Clydie Mastin, in 1973. After many moves with "corporate America," he and his family settled in Jupiter, Fl thirty years ago. Although passionate about his career, Dan considered his greatest accomplishment his family. Dan loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren with his whole heart.
In addition to his wife of forty years, he is survived by his three children: Daniel Luther Eide, Jr. and wife, Melissa; Carrie Eide Hemler and husband, Tom; and Crista Mastin Eide. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Daniel III, Riley, and Jack Eide, and Grant and Madelyn Hemler. Additionally, Dan is survived by his three sisters: Catherine Coan (Jim), Karen Eide (David Britt) and Judith Eide. He was predeceased by his parents John and Eleanor Eide. Always a dog lover, Dan was predeceased by Kelly, Tiffany, Becca, and Heide, and is survived by Abby.
Dan was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking and found release and pride in numerous home projects. He loved nature and anything related to the ocean including boating, swimming and fishing. He loved music and celebrated his love for life with frequent trips to the Bahamas with his family. Dan, renowned for his intellect and humor, enjoyed lively conversation and listened to others intently.
Burial at sea is private. Please join us for a celebration of Dan's life at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 6025 Eagle's Nest Drive, Jupiter.
