Dave was born on August 25, 1942 to Howard and Anne Westfall in New Rochelle, New York. He is survived by his wife Kathy and his older sister, Georgianne (Georgie). He is also survived by a son from a previous marriage, Christopher Waxman and grandson, Morris Waxman. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In his earlier years, I hear he was a crazy kind of guy and those that knew him back then, can share those stories as we build this memorial for him so we get the know the various stages of Dave’s life. Dave was a good person who genuinely cared for those around him.
I met Dave in 1973 when attending Salem State College, in Salem, MA. He was the bartender at a restaurant called “In a Pigs Eye” and I was the waitress. We’ve lived together ever since. It wasn’t until August 29, 1991 that we made it official and got married. He was a charmer from the very beginning and if you met his Dad, you know where he got that from. He could be wreakless when he wanted and warm and caring at the very same time. I feel I found my soul mate as we had the same desires to be free and do what we wanted, not what others expected of us.
When I lost my best friend on May 1, 2010 of an insidious disease, “the Big C” as Dave called it, my heart broke and I’m hoping to mend it some by sharing our adventures over the past 30 years with you. Please click on Play Tribute Movie to see our story.
