Gary R. Allegretti

We are saddened to announce that on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the age of 72, Gary Allegretti of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away. Gary was born at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois, on October 19, 1948. His parents moved to Ft. Lauderdale in the early 1950s and they eventually settled in Lantana, Florida. Gary graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in 1966. He attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where he graduated in 1972. He practiced as Dr. Gary R. Allegretti, O.D. for over 40 years. He was dedicated to his patients and always very giving of his time. Gary volunteered for many years as head coach for his sons’ youth baseball teams. Gary liked pizza, wine, fishing, and his Corvette. He loved The Beatles. But most of all, Gary enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends.

Gary was predeceased by his father and mother, John A. Allegretti and Dorothy (Warner) Allegretti. He is survived by his children, Daniel, Michael, and Matthew Allegretti; his grandson, Ethan Allegretti; his sister Dotti Foulon (Barry); former spouse Jeanne (White) Allegretti; his significant other Kit Salvador, and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
